Spring 2016 Short Fiction Contest

Dear writers, artists, and friends,

For February, 2016, Portland Review is accepting fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and art submissions for our Spring 2016 issue. In addition to our regular (and free) submission categories, Portland Review is pleased to present the Spring 2016 Short Fiction Contest with guest judge Charles McLeod. The entry fee for the contest is $10 with a first place prize of $500. The selected story will be featured in Portland Review‘s Spring 2016 issue, and the winning author will also be invited to headline Portland Review‘s Spring 2016 Release Reading in early June at Literary Arts.

Charles McLeod is the author of the novel American Weather and two collections of stories: National Treasures and Settlers of Unassigned Lands. His fiction has received a Pushcart Prize, been included on Best of the Net, and appeared in publications including Alaska Quarterly ReviewConjunctionsHayden’s Ferry ReviewThe Georgia ReviewThe Iowa ReviewThe Southern Review, and ZYZZYVA. He teaches in the MFA Program at Portland State University.
