Beginning Friday, September 26, Portland Review will be open for submissions in Poetry, Fiction, Creative Nonfiction, and Book Reviews. The window for submission will close on Monday, November 3, but we may close the submission for a genre early if we reach our cap before the official closing date.

At Portland Review, we are looking for submissions (stories, essays, poems, and genre hybrids) that are willing to push boundaries and subvert traditional expectations. We’re looking for works from all walks of life and would like to lift voices from those communities that are historically marginalized. We want the work that is often hard to categorize, experimental, or difficult to explain. Send us work that surprises you in its use of language; send us pieces that reject traditional formal rules. We want it all!
