Portland Review is now open for submissions in Poetry, Fiction, and Nonfiction. The window for submission will be open from September, 27th to October 20, 2023. We will close the submission for the genre if we reach our cap before the official closing date.

At Portland Review, we are looking for submissions (stories, poems, genre hybrids) that are willing to push boundaries and subvert traditional expectations. We’re looking for works from all walks of life and would like to lift voices from those communities that are historically marginalized. We want the work that is often hard to categorize, experimental, and/or difficult to explain; send us the work that surprises you in its use of language, pieces that reject traditional formal rules. We want it all!
